We've all heard the classic phrase, “Don’t stick it where it doesn’t belong.” But have you ever stopped to think about what that phrase actually means? It may seem like common sense, but when you add a bit of curiosity and a little too much confidence into the mix, it can quickly lead to a situation that could have been easily avoided with just a few moments of thought.

The Dangers of Inserting Objects Into Orifices

One common medical complaint is foreign body insertion. This occurs when an object is inserted into an orifice such as the ear, nose, or rectum. It is most commonly seen in children as they explore their bodies and tend to put objects in their mouths and ears more frequently than adults do. However, this type of injury can also occur in adults who are careless or curious about what happens if they insert something into an orifice.

The consequences can be serious and even life-threatening depending on what was inserted and how deep it was inserted. In cases involving the rectum, there is also a risk of tearing the tissue surrounding the anus which can be very painful and difficult to repair surgically. If the object becomes lodged in the throat or stomach, surgery may be required to remove it if other methods fail. Even if no serious complications arise from inserting an object into an orifice, there is always a risk of infection due to bacteria present on the object entering through any tears or abrasions in tissues caused by its insertion.

When confronted with objects that could possibly get stuck somewhere they don't belong - take heed! Common signs that something has been inserted too deeply include pain, bleeding, difficulty breathing/swallowing/urinating/defecating/etc., coughing up blood or objects from the lungs, vomiting up objects from the stomach, etc. These should all be taken seriously and you should seek medical attention immediately if any of these symptoms occur after inserting something into an orifice. If inserting something into the anus, make sure it has a flared base so it doesn’t make your intestines it’s home.

In short - don’t stick it where it doesn’t belong! Be careful when inserting any kind of foreign body into your body as doing so can result in serious injuries ranging from minor infections to life-threatening complications requiring emergency surgery. If you suspect something has been inserted too deeply or that you are experiencing pain after insertion - seek medical attention right away! Taking preventative measures now will help avoid potential issues down the line so stay safe out there guys!
